I’ll bet our Memphis readers know. In fact, first one to respond with the correct name gets a $5 Starbucks gift card. What the hell….it’s Friday. Leave your answer in the comments and I’ll get in touch with the winner for where to send the card.
Love him or hate him, the guy has done a thorough job marketing his services. Note my word choice for describing his marketing: thorough. I use this word because his ads are not attractive (I’d actually call them awful) or memorable individually, but they are thoroughly placed in spots where his target consumer will see them (billboards and TV spots). And the one thing he does extremely well is relay a consistent message that drives recognition.
His approach may lack a lot in building a reputable brand, but I’ll bet he doesn’t care. He is hitting his target consumers and they’re obviously picking up the phone. So, learn from what he does well (effective media planning and consistent messaging) and improve on his glaring weaknesses (creative execution and brand development). Because in the end, it’s all about effectively moving people to take action, and we can obviously learn a lot from his success (as much as it pains me to say it out loud).
