Sometimes the most detrimental decision is no decision at all. It’s always important to evaluate all of the facts and resources available prior to making a decision, but you always come to the point where it’s time to $#!+ or get off the pot! Unfortunately, many businesses put off a decision completely because they’re afraid of a mistake. I call this decision paralysis.
Decision paralysis is a state where a business or person is so afraid of making a mistake that they’re frozen by their fear. The reality is that there are only two things that can happen if you make the decision.
1. Failure – You make the decision and it doesn’t work. However, if you move forward confidently, fail fast if it’s not working (understand when something isn’t working and make changes) and learn from the mistakes, you can easily come back stronger. It’s a proven fact that failure happens and every great business person and/or business will experience failure at some point.
2. Success – You make the decision and it works out great. If you had waited to make the decision the opportunity would have most likely been grabbed by someone else…but it wasn’t because you made the decision.
Get over your fear and make the decision. There are only two results and both lead to eventual success….most likely!
