There are a million get rich quick schemes today. Everywhere you turn someone has an easy method to get rich. Not surprisingly, these schemes are all BS. There is no shortcut to success and wealth. There are proven paths to wealth, but they all require knowledge, planning and execution. Just like get rich quick schemes, there are thousands of “overnight optimization” promises on the internet. I get three emails a day promising me thousands of inbound links, top rank for my keyword niche (even though they don’t know what my niche is and the level of competition) and immediate success without any work.
The general rule of thumb is that if it seems too good to be true, it is. This is an easy criteria to apply to all offers you receive.
We’ll get you hundreds of links to your site overnight…BS.
We’ll have you at the top rank of Google’s organic results in a week….BS.
Optimizing a site is very much like building wealth, it is a process that requires knowledge, planning and execution. High traffic sites don’t happen overnight. Truly valuable sites are built over time with quality content that is regularly updated. A methodical team with a sound strategy following SEO best practices will always trump the folks trying to take shortcuts. Find the right niche, build a content plan and execute diligently.

Plain speak is always good to hear. There is so much about SEO today and for many of us it is like weeding a garden but we don’t know what is a weed and what is a flower. Keep up the plain talk. We all need to hear more of it.
